Whether you're looking to level up your choral singing or looking for a community choir that feels more like family, you've found it.
We are thrilled to invite experienced choral singers to audition for the Concord Chamber Singers of the Lehigh Valley, PA! It's never a bad time to audition. We would be delighted to have you join our talented and passionate ensemble.
About Concord Chamber Singers:
The Concord Chamber Singers (CCS) is a vibrant mid-size chamber ensemble of approximately 50 singers. We perform an eclectic repertoire, ranging from the Middle Ages to contemporary commissions. In addition to our Winter and Spring Concerts, we love to go out and support our community with performances at venues such as Kirkland Village, Lehigh University's Baccalaureate, and IronPigs baseball games, as well as caroling! We also love to collaborate with guest artists like Emmet Cahill of Celtic Thunder and with other ensembles.
Community and Camaraderie:
We are a multi-generational group, with members ranging in age from their 20s to their 80s. Our singers often socialize after rehearsals and concerts, fostering a strong sense of community. Our dedicated board, comprised of singers, works tirelessly to support the choir, and we consider each other family.
Artistic Challenge:
Our programming is not only diverse but also challenging. With every season we learn and grow as artists and singers. Our Artistic Director, David Macbeth, has been a leader in the choral arts community of the Lehigh Valley for more than 20 years. Together, we push the boundaries of our artistic expression to new heights and work to become better musicians with every rehearsal.
Rehearsals:
- Start: January 15, 2024
- End: April 27th concert, with several events after
- Location: First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem
- Time: Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Audition Details:
You do not need to prepare anything for the audition. We will guide you through exercises to assess your vocal tone, flexibility, ear, and reading ability. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions about the group and our expectations. Our goal is to maintain a mid-size chamber ensemble with the vocal flexibility and balanced blend to perform diverse styles and genres, while fostering a supportive and fun-loving environment.
